Saving more when doing less

Some of us are not doing as much as we normally do this time of year. You may have cut down on out-of-the-house activities and extra spending (unless you’ve taken up online shopping as a new quarantine hobby). Whether you need to rearrange your budget during these tough times or you feel your budget is good enough to start sticking away extra savings, there are ways you can free up even more money. Here's how:

Car Insurance Credits – People aren’t using their cars as much as they did before and insurance companies have taken notice. It’s worth giving your insurance company a call to see if they are giving any policy credits. Not all companies are giving out discounts without the customer asking first, so be sure to take a few minutes to check.

Subscriptions – Do you have some subscriptions that are going unused? Go through your current subscriptions and see if you’re really using them. If not, maybe it’s time to cancel if you can. It may seem like only like a few dollars a month but cancel a couple and you can save a decent amount over the year.

Store brands – Yes, buy store brands. You might be thinking, “Well, that’s only a dollar savings on my cereal!” Again, those few dollars you save on your cheese or bread can add up overtime especially if you’re shopping for a large family.

Great thing about these tips? They don’t take a lot of time and energy to do! You can easily implement them in just a few minutes.
